Logistics Team Leader / Dutch Language

ViaEurope means: smart Web-Apps & APIs combined with real warehouses, taking care of customs clearance for thousands of parcels each day, bringing products from all over the world to Europe!
ViaEurope is seeking a Logistics Team Leader, to supervise the daily teamwork in our Amsterdam E-hub and to work closely with the Logistics Supervisor. In this role, you will be, together with three other team leaders (and +/- 15 operators per shift), responsible for the daily inbound and outbound e-commerce shipments and all warehouse activities involved. You will guide and lift your team to a higher level, making sure that quality and daily deadlines are met.

 

As a Team Leader at ViaEurope, you are expected to lead by example and be the contact person for your team to help them to be the best at their job while ensuring a positive work environment and a good team spirit. This role requires you also to deal with time and task pressure. Therefore, being decisive, a good communicator and socially capable are essential qualities that will help you to bring out the best in your team and reach your targets.

 

Your Work and Responsibilities: 


Your work includes daily logistics operations that you will supervise, cooperate and support when needed, such as unloading/loading trucks; booking incoming/outgoing shipments; scanning, sorting, and palletizing the parcels, using our automated sorting machine; driving the pallets with the forklift truck to the right location. 
You also organize and optimize the day-to-day logistics operations and make sure processes are understood and followed by the operators. In addition, you contribute to a safe work environment with a positive attitude and a good team dynamic. 
Communicating daily with international drivers. 
Various logistics admin tasks.
Work Time: the warehouse works 7 days a week and we work in shifts; you plan your shifts 5 days a week in coordination with the other Team Leaders. 


Requirements

 Your Experience:



At least three years of experience in a similar position


Ability to communicate in Dutch and English, you will have to use that on a daily basis


You are passionate about what you do and want to build a future in logistics


Affinity with technology and comfortable using MS Office tools


Hands-on mentality and a real team player


You have a forklift truck / EPT certificate (desirable).


Excellent organization skills and hard-working attitude (we have enough deadlines to meet in one day)
